Menuie Privacy Policy
Version and Effective Date: July 27, 20251. General Provisions
- 1.1 This Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") applies to all services and related functions provided by the mobile application Menuie (hereinafter referred to as "the App").
- 1.2 This policy is formulated in accordance with applicable U.S. laws and regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other relevant federal and state privacy laws, aiming to govern how the App collects, uses, stores, and protects user information.
2. Scope of Information Collection
- 2.1 The App adheres to the principle of data minimization and, in principle, does not actively collect personal information. "Personal information" in this Policy refers to all kinds of information, recorded electronically or otherwise, that can identify or make identifiable a natural person.
- 2.2 To enable core functions, the App may access the following items after obtaining explicit consent from the user:
- (1) Device camera function;
- (2) Device photo gallery and stored content;
- (3) Device location function (limited to city-level precision).
3. Rules for Use of Information
- 3.1 Image data will only be used for the following purposes:
- (1) To provide text recognition and translation services;
- (2) To optimize algorithmic models;
- (3) To improve service quality.
- 3.2 Purpose and Use of Location Information:
- (1) Determining the official currency of the user's city;
- (2) Calculating applicable tax rates;
- (3) Location information is used solely for the temporary purpose of enabling relevant functionality. The related data is deleted immediately after processing and is not retained or stored in any persistent form.
- (4) Under no circumstances will location information be disclosed, shared, or provided to any third party.
- 3.3 Data management commitments:
- (1) All data will be de-identified;
- (2) Data will not be linked to the user's identity;
- (3) Data will be used strictly within the scope necessary for providing services.
4. Management of Third-Party Services
- 4.1 Third-party SDKs integrated into the App may collect:
- (1) Basic device information (model, OS version);
- (2) Network environment (IP address, connection status);
- (3) Anonymized behavioral data.
- 4.2 All third-party services must meet the following criteria:
- (1) No collection of directly identifiable information;
- (2) No user profiling;
- (3) Data collection practices must comply with international standards such as GDPR.
5. User Rights
- 5.1 Users are legally entitled to the following rights:
- (1) Revoke any granted permissions at any time via system settings;
- (2) Request access to data processing records;
- (3) Request deletion of cached data;
- (4) Obtain a complete copy of the privacy policy.
6. Policy Revisions
- 6.1 This Policy may be modified or updated at any time without prior notice. Users are responsible for reviewing this Policy periodically to stay informed of any changes.
- 6.2 Continued use of the App will be deemed as acceptance of the revised Policy. If you do not agree to the revised Policy, you must stop using the App immediately.
- 6.3 The right to interpret and revise this Policy is reserved by the Menuie operations team.
